MIDDLESEX CRICKET IS LOOKING FOR TALENTED CRICKETERS AGED 16-21 TO TAKE PART IN A COMPETITION THAT SEES TALENTED YOUNG PEOPLE FROM ACROSS THE COUNTY COMPETE VIA TWENTY20 FORMATS.
Trials are taking place across Middlesex & Essex to form a North London team who will compete in this year’s Lord’s Taverners City Cup – a T20 tournament. The north London round will see four teams formed from all north London boroughs. A select XI from the four teams will go onto represent north London in an all London final competing against a select South London XI.
The winners from the ‘All’ London match will go through to the semi-finals competing against other city winners with a view of progressing to the National finals at Leicestershire CCC. Deserving players participating in the city rounds will be invited to trial with the MCC with the chance of securing a professional contract for the MCC Young Cricketers based at the Home of Cricket, Lords.
The Lord’s Taverners City Cup aims is to engage with young men living in inner cities throughout England, helping players to reach their potential and retain more players in the game. If you are interested in playing in a high quality tournament and meet the criteria below, please attend any of the trial dates below.
CRITERIA FOR THE LORD’S TAVERNERS CITY CUP
- You must be aged between 16 and 21 years old.
- You must not currently play in the Middlesex County Cricket League (Premier/Division1)
- You must not of played County Age Group Cricket at Under 14’s level or older.
- You must live or play in a North London Borough, this includes; Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Islington, Haringey, Enfield, Barnet, Harrow, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Ealing, Brent, Hammersmith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Westminster, Camden and Richmond.
