Hair today, gone tomorrow!

Dave Ross has spent the last sixteen years cultivating his unique hairstyle (See attached) but is prepared to sacrifice it all for the Phoenix Fund.

The time and date is yet to be confirmed but is believed to be before Christmas. Please give generously to see Dave shorn of his long locks. You can donate at

Message from Dave: ‘Dear friends and colleagues, as I approach?!? middle age I have become aware that after 16 years of looking like a cross between a bad Tarzan and Catweazle (Google it kids) it’s not necessarily a good look. So I have decided that after a year of change for me that maybe it is time for another one. On a date yet to be decided but before Christmas I will be getting my hair cut off and thought that as it has become such a fixture I would try and raise some money for a charity close to my heart.

Two years ago my local cricket club pavilion was burnt to the ground by arson. The local children, my sons included and us adults lost the opportunity for some fun and exercise during the summer. It was a fantastic community facility and a focal point for many youth activities that gave youngsters something to do other than play computer games or cause trouble. Volunteers have struggled hard to raise the necessary funds and while work has finally started they are still short of the funds they need. You can read more here http://www.hamptonhillcricket.co.uk/

While I’m aware this is not a charity to compare with some others it is important to me and I would really appreciate it if you could donate something if you want to see me finally shorn of my long locks. https://www.justgiving.com/David-Ross-Hair-Today-Gone-Tomorrow

More details to follow on where and when it will take place, my palms are already sweating…….’
