With the World T20 competition hopefully about to spark the interest of young cricketers, we are pleased to announce that the HHCC 2016 colts season will open up on Sunday 17th April.
Sunday mornings through the season will again cater for children from reception age through to our U11’s and will run from 10am-noon. During the first two sessions we will be looking to register children between 9:30-10am and 12 -12:30, with playing subs now due (see below).
Our training sessions for older colts will run on weekday evenings as will our hard ball fixtures and details of these will be sent to the separate age groups from the relevant coaches.
New members are welcome across all of our age groups and are entitled to two free of charge trial weeks, so if you know of anyone who may interested in joining then please bring them along or ask them to contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more info.
Thanks to all who have responded to our call for coaching help so far; if you’ve not yet done so then again please let us know if this is something you are prepared to get involved in (we need coaches and helpers). The whole of HHCC is run by volunteers and we ask all parents to get involved in the club to ensure we can continue to thrive (we also need admin help and people prepared to make breakfast sandwiches!)
One change for this season, is that HHCC no longer has ECB ClubMark status meaning that for this season we will no longer play in the Middlesex colts cricket league and instead have secured friendly and competitive fixtures for all age groups. Whilst HHCC remains 100% committed to providing the highest standards of welfare and coaching for all our junior members and still have all the relevant safeguards in place, the administration process required to retain Clubmark status has simply become far too cumbersome and onerous for us and many other clubs to justify.
To mark the start of the season the first senior fixture will take place on Sat 23rd April and this will be followed by a club party, open to all and a good way to meet or reacquaint your selves with members and friends from across our club.
