Colts Presentation Night Report

The recent Colts Presentation Night saw the HHCC Club house packed as the Junior section celebrated another successful season.

President Dave Mackinney welcomed everyone before explaining the issues that had caused the lack of competitive games for certain teams, before providing an update on how we are fixing these for the coming season, including getting coaches onto both the Level 2 coaching courses and the Helpers course (formally Level 1). He thanked all of the coaches from the smallest KWIKs to the U17 Coach Warren Carr. He also thanked Michelle McCartney and Michelle Hales for all of their hard work with the administration on Sunday mornings, as well as Nikki Mackinney and her support staff for the fantastic breakfast sandwiches enjoyed by all, every Sunday morning.

Finally he thanked all of the parents and kids who have bought into the family ethos that the club is so proud of and looked forward to many of the players and parents becoming permanent fixtures in the club for many years to come.

Warren then spoke about his U17s and with a little tear in his eye, said farewell to them,  but regained his composure to look forward to the next crop of cricketers to take under his wing.

Dave then gave a light hearted critique of each player before presenting them each with a small memento for their efforts for the season.

Finally, the main awards were presented by Dave and Rob Fullicks,  with the Mike Crane Bowling Trophy being presented by Mike’s widow Ann Crane, and the Bill Hauting Colt of the Year being presented by Bill’s grandson, Jim Hauting.
